In the exhibition room on the first floor, the structure of Hiroshima Castle, the construction of Hiroshima Castle by Mori Terumoto, and the political flow from the establishment of the Hiroshima Domain to the end of the Edo period are displayed using actual documents and models. A video of the
construction of the castle is shown on the model of Hiroshima Castle.

This is a section for gilt shachi tiles and gilt oni-ita tiles that were excavated from the remains of a samurai residence within Hiroshima Castle (Hiroshima Castle Ruins Kami-Hatchobori Site), located about 400 meters southeast of Hiroshima Castle's main tower. This
is the first time in Japan that a pair of gilt shachi tiles has been discovered that retains almost perfect shape and vivid colors, making them extremely valuable materials.
